One cycle of chemotherapy was performed to kill other cancer cells all over the body. However, her body couldn’t survive the destructive attacks and even blood transfusion made things worse.

In a desperate search for alternative therapies, she found my clinic online and asked for help with acupuncture or Chinese herbs. Of course I did not let her down. Right after the first session of acupuncture-herb combined treatment, her uterine bleeding was stopped. After three sessions, her severe cancer pain was reduced by half.  She can even help her husband with some housework.  It’s their belief that they can win the fight against cancer with the help of Chinese medicine.

Getting slim without sweating http://oneclinicexpress.com/blog/2011/07/10/getting-slim-without-sweating/ http://oneclinicexpress.com/blog/2011/07/10/getting-slim-without-sweating/#comments Sun, 10 Jul 2011 06:51:11 +0000 Administrator http://oneclinicexpress.com/blog/?p=350 Obesity

A woman with obesity

Lisa is a busy and frustrated mom. She has to take care of her three children everyday. She needs to work hard to make enough money for the family. Doctors advise her to make changes in lifestyle for her overweight. So she has to find time to watch out what she eats and to work out regularly. “You are still this fat”, her 70-year mom always exposes her short in family gatherings.

During this summer vacation, Lisa determined to try losing weight with acupuncture in my clinic. After 7 sessions in 2 weeks she lost 8 pounds. Her other medical problems have also improved a lot. She admitted that she had not followed my advice to do any exercise and change any diet. In the last Independence Day family reunion, her mom exclaimed,”What have you done to get slim like this?”  She replied, “I didn’t do anything, but Dr.Yan did with lots of needles”. Now Lisa is a happy but still busy mom.

Kung Fu AcuMed http://oneclinicexpress.com/blog/2011/06/06/kung-fu-acumed/ http://oneclinicexpress.com/blog/2011/06/06/kung-fu-acumed/#comments Mon, 06 Jun 2011 20:22:57 +0000 Administrator http://oneclinicexpress.com/blog/?p=339

A Picture of Kung Fu Panda

I was very impressed with the stories of Panda Po in the movies Kung Fu Panda 1 and 2.  As the Dragon Warrior, Po  is responsible for the safety of the Valley of Peace, where anthropomorphic animals’ lives are threatened by powerful evil warriors. His tools to defeat the enemies are actually within his body:self-confidence and inner peace.

Although they are only artistic creations, they reveal part of the objective truth in the field of medicine. We are desperately looking for magic weapons for disease control just like those arena warriors searching for the so-called Dragon Scroll.  However, the Dragon Scroll turns out to be only a blank reflective surface. Many people don’t realize that cures for diseases are out there in their bodies and refuse to apply natural therapies to fight for their health. What a waste of our natural resources!

Acupuncture-centered medicine (AcuMed) has been very successfully applied to help people obtain optimal health for several thousands of years in China. It proves to be superior to any other current systems in handling most of health problems. I wish everybody makes full use of this Kung Fu in their pursuit of healthiness.

Medical kidnapping http://oneclinicexpress.com/blog/2011/05/15/medical-kidnapping/ http://oneclinicexpress.com/blog/2011/05/15/medical-kidnapping/#comments Sun, 15 May 2011 05:24:39 +0000 Administrator http://oneclinicexpress.com/blog/?p=325

Lynn has been under active anti-hypertension treatment for ten years. She carefully follows doctors’ advice and would never miss a single dose. However, to her disappointment, her bood pressure has never been normal. In addition, she started to suffer from indigestion, bradycardia, cold extremities, cardiac arrhythmia, body pain, and leg cramp. “I feel rather die than live,” she told me when she visited my clinic one day.

I told her that she is not alone. Many people who are determined to pursue a life-long anti-hypertension journey as their doctors suggest may have severe side effects that require medical attention, such as irregular heartbeat, fainting, chest pain, insomnia, difficulty breathing, and depression, etc. The thing is that those medications for handling these problems will again generate new problems which need more medical attention. “Now you unstand that you are acturally kidnapped by the doctor”, I explained to the desperate client.

Any solution to this helpless dilemma? Yes, don’t give him ransom! This is what I told Lynn to do. She immediately stopped the medications and started to receive intensive acupucnture and Chinese herbal medicine treatment. Two weeks later, her blood pressure and heartbeat returned to normal.  Everything else bad are pretty much all gone.  She feels as if gained a new life now.

Master Chief’s puzzle http://oneclinicexpress.com/blog/2011/04/26/master-chiefs-puzzle/ http://oneclinicexpress.com/blog/2011/04/26/master-chiefs-puzzle/#comments Tue, 26 Apr 2011 13:04:03 +0000 Administrator http://oneclinicexpress.com/blog/?p=307 Paul is a retired US Navy officer with Master Chief rate. For yeaLow back painrs, he carried his medical documents including MRI images from one specialist to another seeking help for his lumbar spondylosis and stenosis. He experienced back pain, insomnia, fatigue, poor balance, and other physical discomforts. What he got from those visits was the same professional advice: “you have to live with it”.

Living in pain is pretty much normal to many people nowadays. But it is a shame on medical professionals. Even with a medical bill of thousands of dollars, you can’t expect getting a reliable fix for most of pain syndromes.

Being referred by one of his close friends to my clinic one day, Paul didn’t expect much. “I’ll appreciate any help you might give me, even if it is minor”, Paul assured. But I didn’t disappoint him.  After 2 sessions of acupuncture treatment, he felt remarkably relieved. Lying on the treatment table, he asked,”Doc, I just don’t understand why they didn’t inform me of this option before?”. I knew whom he refered to by “they”. “Because they don’t believe it,” I replied.

Sunnylife returns with acupuncture http://oneclinicexpress.com/blog/2011/04/18/sunnylife-returns-with-acupuncture/ http://oneclinicexpress.com/blog/2011/04/18/sunnylife-returns-with-acupuncture/#comments Mon, 18 Apr 2011 05:03:51 +0000 Administrator http://oneclinicexpress.com/blog/?p=301 A man with depression

A man with depression

David is a self-employed engineer. Business wise, he is very successful. But emotional wise, he is a complete loser. He used to be a very happy boy. In the last two decades, however, he lived in anxiety, fair, and worry due to harassment of his middle school classmate with mental disorder.

His brother invited him to visit a Tai-Chi master in Florida. He attended a 30-day spirit supporting course and felt great relief from the training. But afterwards, he still experienced frequent depressive episodes at home. His brother then suggested him relocating his business to Florida so that he can get lone-term help from the master.

An attack of severe stomach cramps brought him to my office last week. “I don’t want to move because I was born and grew up here. My parents, relatives, and business are all here. Here is the root of my life”, he added when he told me about his brother’s advice. “I will kneel to you if you can help kill my stomache”, he said sincerely. “Take it easy, you should be OK”, I comfort him with a smile.

Sure enough, his pain was gone right after the first session of acupunture treatment. With a couple of more sessions done, he is now living a sunny life.

Quick fixes available for chronic diseases http://oneclinicexpress.com/blog/2011/04/10/quick-fixes-available-for-chronic-diseases/ http://oneclinicexpress.com/blog/2011/04/10/quick-fixes-available-for-chronic-diseases/#comments Sun, 10 Apr 2011 05:51:06 +0000 Administrator http://oneclinicexpress.com/blog/?p=282

A patient with COPD

John has been suffering from COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease) since 2008. Having tried numerous medications and Chinese herbs, he recently ends up relying on at least 10 times of inhaled steroids daily. Otherwise, he can barely live a normal retirement life. Living in a prosperous, but crowded, municipal district in China, he is considering relocating to a remote village with picturesque scenery.

During my current visit in China, John inquired about any possible advanced therapies developed in USA for his problem. I told him don’t bother seeking any magic hi-tech therapies outside. And I also told him that all cures are in Nature, including people’s own bodies. He was puzzled in the beginning. But one week later, he completely understood what I meant. With only 5-days’ acupuncture treatments, he can now breathe easily without any inhalation support and has no cough, wheezing, or chest tightness. Actually, there are similar natural quick fixes for many other common chronic problems, such as pain, asthma, allergy, insomnia, constipation, and depression, etc.

Knife or needle? http://oneclinicexpress.com/blog/2011/03/21/knife-or-needle/ http://oneclinicexpress.com/blog/2011/03/21/knife-or-needle/#comments Mon, 21 Mar 2011 20:31:19 +0000 Administrator http://oneclinicexpress.com/blog/?p=262 Ted was having painful inguinal hernia recently. His doctor recommended an immediate repair surgery. One of his best friends, Rob, has just received a similar surgery for the same problem in a Canadian hospital. Ted was convinced the procedure shouldn’t be something major.

With previous experience of suffering he had for his bone surgery 3 years ago, Ted was still reluctant to lie on surgery table again. “Could you help me out with herbs or acupuncture?”, he asked me on the phone. “Sure”, I told him.

When the first acupuncture treatment was finished, his pain was almost gone. After three sessions together with Chinese herbs within 7 days, almost everything returned to normal. He was very pleased he made a right decision. However, his friend Rob was angry saying he should have known this before. Actually, most of surgeries, minor or major, are avoidable like this.

West Dad East Mom http://oneclinicexpress.com/blog/2011/03/07/west-dad-east-mom/ http://oneclinicexpress.com/blog/2011/03/07/west-dad-east-mom/#comments Mon, 07 Mar 2011 16:04:54 +0000 Administrator http://oneclinicexpress.com/blog/?p=249 Alex is a 15-yr-old handsome boy thanks to the genetic optimization of American Dad and Chinese Mom. The only drawback is the mild persistent asthma.  He likes playing basketball, but his lung doesn’t. Whenever he has a good time with it for about 10 minutes, his chest will pull his leg with shortness of breath and chest tightness. Parents have tried desperately conventional therapies for their beloved boy but in vain.

East Mom proposed trying acupuncture before Christmas last year. West Dad thought she was a nut. Eventually, Mom win the fight and Alex was brought to my office two weeks ago. Any doctors can easily make a quick diagnosis when they hear the big noise in his chest using stethoscope.

Alex was very cooperative. After one session, he told me he felt much better. After two sessions, Alex can play a full basketball game with no sweat. The chest was quite clear as normal. Mom happily told me that her husband was considering making an appointment with me for his own health concerns.

Why seeing is not believing? http://oneclinicexpress.com/blog/2011/02/24/why-seeing-is-not-believing/ http://oneclinicexpress.com/blog/2011/02/24/why-seeing-is-not-believing/#comments Thu, 24 Feb 2011 08:13:45 +0000 Administrator http://oneclinicexpress.com/blog/?p=243 Rina wrote to a medical columnist of a commercial newspaper describing her successful experience with acupuncture treatments for her fibromyalgia. The physician columnist showed no interest in her story, saying such kind of therapy is not recommended to patients with such problems because it is not scientifically proven and may just work as a placebo.

So why seeing is not believing? A common mistake that scientists or doctors are making everyday is to compare acupuncture with a standard specific therapy (generally a drug).  They regard acupuncture as A single therapy. But a basic truth has always been ignored: acupuncture is a umbrella name for a variety of therapies. Acupuncture is an individualised medical system based on flexible combinations of acupoints in accordance with patients’ specific disease patterns.

Of course, not all patients are good candidates for acupuncture treatment. One of the major determinants of successful acupuncture treatments is a patent’s needling sensation.
